Lot 1111
1871 $3 Gold. PCGS graded MS-64. Well struck and ablaze with frosty mint luster. The surfaces are light golden orange and semi reflective. Only 1300 minted and of that number, probably fewer than a 100 exist today, many of which are in circulated grades. Most who wanted this date acquired a Proof, thus a high grade business strike specimen such as this is much rare than a Proof. Pop 8 with 1 in MS-65 and 1 in MS-66 (PCGS # 7993) .
Estimated Value $11,000 - 12,000.
